My name is Alan Horowitz and I am an award-winning business, marketing and technology writer. I began my career in 1977, and for the next 11 years held several full-time writing jobs, including: copywriter positions at public relations and advertising agencies, reporter and editor at Entrepreneur magazine, and editor-in-chief for a publisher of stock market investor and small business/entrepreneur newsletters.

I have freelanced full-time since 1988, writing marketing and communications materials for a variety of companies and organizations, and articles for business and technology magazines and websites.

Decades of experience give me in-depth knowledge of many types of written material. And because I have worked with numerous editors and marketing/public relations professionals, and for a wide variety of companies and publications, I am able to quickly get-up-to-speed, understand your needs and meet your requirements.

I Write:
Marketing and Communications materials: I have years of experience writing newsletters, case studies, brochures, white papers, collateral materials, video and radio scripts, website copy, annual reports, public relations materials and corporate histories.

Articles: My portfolio includes more than 700 published articles and columns. These cover marketing, management, finance, human resources, technology, corporate profiles and more.

Books: I authored The Unofficial Guide to Hiring and Firing People (Macmillan). And ghostwrote: The One-Page Project Manager and The One-Page Project Manager for IT Projects, both by Clark A. Campbell (John Wiley & Sons), for project managers; The Market Gurus by John Reese and Todd Glassman (Dearborn), for stock market investors; and Bulletproof Your Financial Future by Bruce Lefavi (Pocket Books), a personal finance book.

How I Work:
I have a demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to a client’s needs and follow through on projects.

Planning well in advance of a deadline is not always possible. Sometimes you need copy now. I understand. I am fast and can turn around assignments to meet short deadlines.

I listen to you, willingly follow directions and work hard to meet -- and exceed -- your expectations.

A job is not completed until you are satisfied. I make changes and accommodations -- with a smile.

I meet deadlines.

I am committed to accuracy, honesty and thoroughness.

What I Charge
Quality writing is the greatest bargain. I am not cheap, but I provide high quality. You receive good value for your money. I typically charge a flat fee per project.
